Wilma Larson, 92, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 4, 2021, at Green Acres of Greenville. Wilma was born on February 25, 1929, in Putnam County, Tennessee, the daughter of Gilbert and Beulah (Vickers) LaFever. For many years, Wilma owned Wilma’s Beauty Salon, starting out on Pleasant Street in Belding, and later on M-91 between Belding and Greenville. She had a love of her clients at the salon and enjoyed the many years she had working as a beautician. Wilma enjoyed gardening and always made time for shopping, especially for clothes and shoes. She was always dressed well and was very prim and proper. She had a big love of family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her favorite time spent with them was during the Christmas season. She was a longtime member of the Greenville United Methodist Church, was active in the Women’s group, and helped for many years with funeral luncheons and other church activities. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is loved and survived by her children, Phyllis (Michael) Holbrook of Columbiaville, Michigan, Kim (James) Holland of Gowen, Kevin (Martha) Larson of Surprise, Arizona; her grandchildren, Andy Holbrook, Brent (Amy) Holbrook, Stacy (Steve) Ward, Kelli Holland, Kaitlyn (Mike) Booker, James Holland, Andrea Larson, Brad Larson; her great grandchildren, Alec, Madison, Mason, her siblings, Janet Thurston of Texas, Charles (Melba) LaFever of Illinois, JC LaFever of Ohio. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Larson; her parents, her brother, Willie LaFever, and her sisters, Bobbie Clem and Naoma Pierce.
Private graveside services will take place in Trufant Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Wilma may be directed to the Toys for Tots program with either a monetary donation or a toy for the upcoming Christmas season. They can be dropped off at the funeral home.
