William J. Rockburn 78 of Belding died Friday morning November 27, 2020 at Hathaway Hills in Greenville. William was born on January 7, 1942 in Grand Rapids, the son of William and Virginia ( Prinz) Rockburn. He graduated from Godwin High School with the Class of 1960 and later retired from Steelcase in 1999 after many years of service. In earlier years William was a little league baseball coach, was a volunteer for the Grattan Township Fire Department and had played Santa at the fire barn and for other groups around the Grattan and Belding areas. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and loved family time. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in law, John Hendricks and wife Nancy on January 29, 2019.
William is loved and survived by his children; James (Sarah) Rockburn of Greenville, Connie Moon and John of Belding, Roger (Janice) Rockburn of Greenville, his grandchildren; Emily (Joshua) Knapp, Charles Moon, Benjamin Moon, Jacob Moon, Henry Rockburn, Elizabeth Rockburn, Garrett Rockburn, Ruby Rockburn, Brianna Rockburn, his siblings, Darlene( Robert) Lester of Plainwell, Bruce ( Dianne) Rockburn of Belding and Joan Hendricks of Gowen. A time of visitation will be 4-7 PM on Thursday December 3, 2020 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Due to the current restrictions in place with the COVID-19 Virus, visitation will be limited to 25 people at a time in the funeral home, masks are required if able to be worn and social distancing will be practiced. No funeral will be held. Private interment will be in Graceland Memorial Park in Grand Rapids. Memorials may be given to Interim Hospice of Grand Rapids or the Hathaway Hills Activities Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
