Verne “Tink” L. Wilder 73 of Belding passed away Monday June 12, 2023, at home under the loving care of his family and Corewell Hospice. Verne was born on September 29, 1949, in Lansing, the son of Iral and Hazel (Jewell) Wilder. Verne proudly graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1990, graduating with his daughter Jodi. He retired from Electrolux in Greenville after 36 and a half years of service. Verne was very talented mechanically and liked working on cars as well as remodeling and fixing things around the house. He could fix or repair just about anything. He enjoyed watching the Indy 500, riding his motorcycle decorating cakes and was a member of Grace Bible Chapel of Belding. Verne proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Verne was married on July 20, 1974, in Greenville to Vickie Crandell.
Verne is loved and survived by his wife Vickie and their children, Jodi Bignall of Belding, Benjamin (Josephine) Wilder of Murfreesboro, TN., his grandchildren, Katherine Wilder, Mackenzie Payne, Hannah Wilder (Noah Evans), Genasis Sperow, Jasmin Sperow, Cole Bignall, Iral Wilder, Harley Wilder, his great grandchildren, Serenity, Amethyst and his siblings, Betty Abbott of Lansing, Peggy Stanton of Belding, Virginia (David) Surette of St. Johns, Susan Oleksinski of Carson City and Julia Wilder (Mel Holbrook) of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John, two nieces, Carrie Anna Coy and Jeanetta Arnett, a nephew Tim Hodges, and a brother-in-law, Dewain Abbott.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday June 24, 2023, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Roger May of Grace Bible Chapel officiating. Committal prayers will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and one hour before the funeral. Memorials may be given to Corewell Health or the B Foundation.
