Tamala Ann Colvin, 51, of Big Rapids, passed away on December 14, 2021, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.
Tamala was born on March 26, 1970, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Bobbie Sherwood and Lourie Ann (Cimek) Jones.
Tamala graduated from Caledonia High School with the class of 1989. She was a homemaker, but also enjoyed traveling, family get togethers, playing Bingo, being a member of the Lions Club and Eagles of Big Rapids. In her working years she was employed with Sam’s Club in Comstock Park, and The Old Country Buffet on Alpine Avenue. Tamala was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Big Rapids.
Tamala is loved and survived by her daughter Ashley (Tony) Lemmen of Comstock Park, her grandchildren: Nevaeh, Skiler, Austin, Jaydan, Braylee and Kinsley, her mother Lourie Heintzelman of Rockford, her siblings: James Jones of Grand Rapids, John Jones of Caledonia, Mike Jones of North Dakota, Kim (Jim) Merklinger of White Cloud, and Dawn Jones of Stanwood, and several nieces and nephews. Tamala was preceded in death by her father, daughter Julie, and grandson Ayden, brother Robert Jones, stepfather Al Heintzelman, and father of her children John P. Colvin.
Tamala’s funeral service will be Monday, December 20, 2021 at noon, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding, with Pastor Roger Mackie presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Committal prayers will be in Bowne Center Cemetery, South of Lowell. Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at her service.
