Shirley Dehn, 88, of Belding passed away Tuesday afternoon June 7, 2022, at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Shirley was born November 25, 1933, the daughter of Kermit and Alice ( Andersen) Coston. She graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1951. She had worked as a secretary at Ostrander Siding & Roofing in Belding. Shirley was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding. She served on countless committees, was a member of Sisters in Christ, and the Ava Maria Group, helped clean the church every Monday morning, served as an usher and worked on countless funeral luncheons. She was a member of the Thimble Club and enjoyed quilting. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.
She is loved and survived by her children, Terese Dehn (Marty Mills) of Belding, Tony (Kelley) Dehn of Pennfield, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, her sister in law, Sister Diane Dehn of Grand Rapids and brother in law, Ray Cowles of Belding.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, sisters, Marvel Davis, Kay Cowles, and Robin Nietering, two brothers, Richard Coston, and Jack Coston, her son and daughter in law, Bill and Marcia Dehn Jr., a granddaughter Rebecca, a grandson Jason and a great grandson Ethan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 13, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father Jim Wyse presiding. Committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 with a rosary prayed at 7:30 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Church, the ALS Society or the B Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church on Monday.
