Sandra Chappell Obituary

 

Sandra K. Chappell 56 of Lowell went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning September 20, 2021, after a long and courageous fight against Myotonic Dystrophy. Sandra was born on May 8, 1965, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Russ and Kay ( Ogden ) Huyser. She graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist Academy and later earned two Master’s Degrees. She had been working as a college professor at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia. She enjoyed reading, being outside and had a love of family and friends. She showed her true self in the many years of  health struggles by never complaining about her illness, always fighting to live on and being a source of strength and encouragement to others. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Sandra is loved and survived by her children, Alina ( Rudi ) Chappell, Bach Chappell, her father and stepmother, Russ ( Rebecca ) Huyser of Ada,  two sisters, Connie Ysseldyke of Lowell and Sue (Greg) Brom of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her mother Kay. In keeping with her wish’s, cremation has taken place. A time of visitation with family and friends will be 5-7 PM  Thursday September 23, 2021, at  Alton Bible Church, 2780 Lincoln Lake Ave. NE., Lowell., Mi. 49331. Memorial contributions may be given to the Myotonic Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the church or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
