Obituary
Rodney Sage 65 of Greenville passed away Sunday August 6, 2023, at home under the loving care of his daughters and Hospice. Rodney was born on December 23, 1957, in Ionia, the son of Friend and Fay (Scheieren) Sage. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1976 and later retired from the State of Michigan Department of Corrections in Ionia after 25 years of service. In his retirement years he started Rimfire Kennels, a dog boarding and Labrador retriever training kennel. He enjoyed training the labs and his kennel business was a big success. Rodney will be greatly missed and always remembered by his family and friends.
He is loved and survived by his daughters, Amber K. ( Anthony) Smith of Greenville, Hallie C. Sage of Laingsburg, his grandchildren, Tanner, Maddox and Mila, his mother Fay Sage of Orleans and his siblings, Blaine Sage of Belding, Dawn Schmidt of Sheridan, Grant Sage of Orleans and Tracy Sage of Ionia. He was preceded in death by his father. In keeping with his wish’s cremation has taken place and no funeral will be held. Memorials may be given to the National Canine Cancer Foundation, 13835 N. Tatum Blvd. Suite 9-448, Phoenix, AZ 85032. You may donate directly to the foundation or obtain an envelope at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, where cremation services were entrusted.
