Robert "Bob" C. Hoseth

Robert C. “Bob” Hoseth, 86, of Belding passed away Monday September 5, 2022, at Spectrum Health in Greenville. Bob was born on September 24, 1935, in Flint, the son of Carl and Mabel (Peterson) Hoseth. He graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1954 and later proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1956.He graduated from Grand Rapids Junior College in 1957, where he met Bonnie, his true love. They moved to married housing at Michigan State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1959. He had a long career as a school teacher first working in Ionia, then Boyne City, Roseville and later retiring  in 1988 from Creston High School in Grand Rapids where he also taught driver’s education for many years. Bob enjoyed horses, his dogs, reading and was an automobile enthusiast. He was a member of St. Joseph-St. Mary Catholic Church of Belding as well as Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Grand Rapids. He particularly enjoyed the Latin masses. Bob loved his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He was married on August 16, 1957, in Grand Rapids to Bonnie Lenderink. He and Bonnie had just recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob is loved and survived  by his wife Bonnie and their children, Jeffrey (Luciana) Hoseth of Boston, Suzanne (Kurt) Kreeger of Belding, Brett (Jen) Hoseth of Cedar Springs, Paul (Rebecca) Hoseth of Arkansas, Gary (Brenda) Hoseth of San Antonio, his grandchildren, Davi Pereira, Seth (Theresa) Kreeger, Jake Kreeger, Samantha (Cecil) Williams, Shane Hoseth, Sabrina (Jake) Hoseth, Eva Hoseth, Melissa Hoseth, Greg Hoseth, Allison Hoseth and one great grandchild on the way. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Wallace  “Ted” (Pat) Hoseth, Phyllis (Neil) Geelhoed, Bonnie Hoover, Jack Hoseth and Erwin Hoseth. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 10, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9041 Krupp Road, Belding with Father Jim Wyse presiding. Visitation will be one hour before mass in the activities center next to the church. Committal prayers will follow mass in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Belding Area Community Fund. Envelopes will be available at church on Saturday or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
