Robert G. Kohn 85 of Pewamo, formerly of Belding passed away Saturday March 4, 2023, at home under the loving care of his family and hospice. Robert was born on May 3, 1937, in Orleans, the son of John and Eva (Hauck) Kohn. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1955 and later served in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. Robert was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding and of the Belding American Legion. Robert enjoyed many things in life, especially horses, anything associated with the American West, sports, playing guitar and collecting antiques. He had a love of country, was proud of his years in the armed services, had a deep faith in the Lord and was blessed with a unique outlook and opinion on life and politics. Robert was also a longtime member of AA, working on 53 years of sobriety and had helped and encouraged others facing life struggles as a substance abuse counselor. He was a talented man who had built his own log cabin several years ago near Belding. He had a competitive spirit and a love of family and friends. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Robert is loved and survived by his children, Robert (Kathy) Kohn of Belding, James Kohn of Carson City, Lynda Dalrymple of Muir, Gregory (Alicia) Kohn of Grand Rapids, Melissa (Randy) Reigler of Freeport, Jennifer Kohn(Stephen Miel) of Lake Odessa, Christine (Ryan) McCarty of Ada, his grandchildren, Danielle, Morgan, Jessica, Emily, Megan, Mariah, Kaleb, Joshua, Grace, Hannah, Christian, Aleisha, Jacob and his great grandchildren, Aidan, Teagan, Avery, Issac, Ava, Bryn and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday March 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Father Darrel Kempf presiding. Committal prayers will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will be Friday March 17, 2023, from 6-8 PM with a rosary prayed at 7:30 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
