Rickie J. Haverstick, 59, of Belding, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Rickie was born on February 15, 1963, in Ionia, the son Jimmie and Edith (Collins) Haverstick. He attended Belding Area Schools and had recently been working for Katerberg VerHage Excavating Company in Grand Rapids. Rickie was a kind, loving, and friendly man, who treasured his family and friends his whole life. He was known to call a different person everyday just to say hello or catch up with what was going on in their life. He also gave each week to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was an important charity to Rickie. He was known as a jack of all trades, and could fix anything, especially cars, go-carts, and snowmobiles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his loyal companion, Tucker. Rickie fought cancer hard over the past two years and always maintained a good and positive outlook. He we be greatly missed and always remembered with a smile by his family and countless friends.
Rickie was married in Ionia on October 28, 1995, to Beth A. Barr. He is loved and survived by his wife Beth and their children, Kimberly (Rory Treynor) Oliver of Belding, Michael (Brianna) Haverstick and Matthew Haverstick both of Tennessee, Zachary (Nichole) Barr of Blanchard, Tyler Haverstick of Belding, Daniel (Heather Adamson) Haverstick of Carson City, and Emily Haverstick of Belding, their grandchildren Kaitlynn, Brian, Jr., Aria, Grayson, Shyla, Kaisyn, and Brixten, his mother Edith Saxton, his siblings Russell (Teresa) Haverstick of Carson City, Linda (Tim) Wilson of Kentucky, Leslie (Troy) Burkhardt of Saint Louis, and Jamie (Candi) Haverstick of Greenville, and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Haverstick, and his grandmother Virgie Mae Haverstick.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday at Shiloh Community Church, with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the funeral at church. Interment will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church and/or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, where funeral care has been entrusted. .
