Richard David Jones

May 3, 1951 – July 6, 2019

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Richard David Jones (68) on July 6, 2019.  Born May 3, 1951 in Madison, WI to John R. and Mariah (Hanson) Jones. The family moved to Grand Rapids, MI when he was 13, and Rich settled in Belding, MI which has been his home for 46 years.

Rich, was a proud Local 340/25 Journeyman Iron Worker who built and owned a successful business, R.D. Jones Co LLC, for 17 years. He loved traveling with friends and family, and spending time at his cottage on Lake Mecosta. A die-hard Green Bay Packers fan Rich enjoyed exploring all life had to offer.  He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, who enjoyed not only the ride, but all the people he met along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents John R. and Mariah H. Jones, and his son John “Fuzz” Jones.

He is survived by the love of his life, Pauline Schmit Jones, daughter Erin Moriah Jones (Matt), son Paul Feurig (Dianna), grandchildren Alex, Madalyn, Alex and Olivia, sisters Gwen Jones, Jeannette Jones (Sandy) and Sarah Elliott.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private service is being held with family, with a public memorial at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the:  Iron Workers Local 25 Training Fund, 50490 W. Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393
