Peter "Pete" R Saladin

Peter R. “Pete” Saladin  85 of Belding passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening August 15, 2023, at home. Pete was born on March 15, 1938, in Reed City, the son of Joseph and Adelaide (House) Saladin. He graduated from Parnell Catholic High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation Pete served two years in the United States Navy. In earlier years he liked to go deer hunting and later enjoyed golf, especially golfing with his children. Pete had worked hard his whole life and up until a couple of years ago, was still mowing the grounds and golf course at the Double R Ranch and Iron Horse Golf Course. Pete loved his wife and family, enjoyed the time spent together and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife Cheney (Insley) and their children, Pamela Saladin of Lakeview, Patricia Saladin of Stanton, Catherine Stevens  of Coral, Connie Saladin of Belding, Peter (Julie) Saladin Jr. of Stanton, Christina (David) Heaton of Belding, Patrick Saladin of Modesta, CA., Carrie Saladin of Sandusky, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and his brother Liguori Saladin of Tampa, FL. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cindy Hoaglin, son in law, David Hoaglin, granddaughter, Chelsea Hoaglin, grandson Josh Stevens, two sisters, Emerita Saladin, Ethel Taylor, and three brothers, Leonard, Fred and Donald.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday August 22, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Parnell with Father David Jameson  presiding. A luncheon will follow mass in the parish activity center. After the luncheon, committal prayers will be at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 with a rosary prayed at 7:30 pm at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and  church.
