Paulette Rene Jenkins-Van Buskirk 53 of Orleans died unexpectedly Saturday March 20, 2021 at home. Paulette was born on October 17, 1967 in Fort Myers, Florida, the daughter of Frank and Brenda ( Ray) Jenkins. She had lived in Florida for several years, moving to Michigan in 2006 and quickly found work as a waitress and chef at the Bridge Street Café, a job she thoroughly enjoyed and did for several years. She also owned her own tree service known as Lett’s Tree Service of Belding. For a lady being in the tree service business, Paulette broke new ground and proved she could put her love of forests and trees into a successful business until a tragic accident cut short her work. She loved her family and always enjoyed time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and the many other children she adopted, cared for and loved like her own. Paulette also enjoyed drag racing. She had built a race car in earlier years and was building a second car before her death. She was also an exceptionally good cook from her years working at the restaurant. She made the very best meatloaf and stuffed shells. Paulette will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is loved and survived by her husband Raymond John Orlo Van Buskirk and their children Michael Simmons, Justin Jenkins of Belding, Cody ( Elisabeth) Jenkins of Washington State, Heather Jenkins, Leigh Ann House all of Belding, her grandchildren, Gage, Christopher, Frank, Eugene, Ka’leigh, Marina, Emberly, Aerys, Jaden, Jaxon, Reno Jr., Lillian, Leonardo, her step mother, Penolope Jenkins of Florida,her siblings, Michael Taylor, Ellery Taylor, Tina ( Humphrey) Williams, all of Florida, “ wifey” Leeann Kimsey of Florida and a special uncle and aunt; Bunky and Betty. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eugene and adopted daughter Vanessa. In keeping with family wish’s cremation has taken place. A time of visitation with family and friends will be Thursday March 25, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Belding High School Adult Education Program which Paulette was so proud to have been part of when she earned her diploma as an adult. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
