Patrick Scheid

Patrick M. “ Pat” Scheid, 57, of Greenville, died Monday February 22, 2021 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Pat was born on July 22, 1963 in Ionia, the son of Arthur and Sarah ( Reeves) Scheid.

He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1981. During high school Pat enjoyed wrestling and being in the build a home classes at Belding and later took several building trades classes at Montcalm Community College. He had a lifelong enjoyment of working with wood and  being able to do any type of carpenter work. He enjoyed life the best when he was busy, working on a project, working in his yard or reading. In the slow times he enjoyed golf. Pat was a past member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Belding. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. He was married on April 22, 2011 in Stanton to Sue Carter.

 Pat is loved and survived by his wife Sue. Also surviving are his children, Bryan Scheid (Brad Sweatt) of Madison, IN., Zach Scheid (Ashley Nichols) of Fenwick, Sue’s son,  Aaron Carter of Greenville, his grandchildren, Elaine, Pamela, Tristan, Skylar, Forrest, his brothers, Theodore (Dorothy) Scheid, Frederick (Lisa) Scheid, Edward (Sandy) Scheid all of Belding, Art (Joy) Scheid of Greenville, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stephen, and Gordon.

A public visitation will be Friday February 26, 2021 from 6-8 pm with a rosary prayed at 7:30 pm at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Masks will be needed as well as social distancing practices. The funeral mass for Pat will be private at St. Mary Church, Belding. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
