Michael Wayne Hulliberger, age 69 of Lowell, formerly of Belding, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2024. Mike was born in Greenville on November 10, 1954, the son of Ken and Dorothy Hulliberger of Belding. He graduated with the class of 1972 from Belding Schools and had in earlier years worked at Stahlin Enclosures and then retired from Steelcase in Grand Rapids. Mike loved Nascar and was a big Tony Stewart fan, loved watching the Tigers and the Lions, and in his free time Mike enjoyed cooking, was an avid wood worker and worked on small engine repair. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mike is loved and survived by his sons, Kenneth Hulliberger of Lowell and Paul Hulliberger of Caledonia; siblings, Tom (Cindy) Hulliberger of Saranac, Jeff (Kelly) Hulliberger of Belding, and Denny (Cynthia) Hulliberger of Ionia; many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Dorothy. From Mike’s sons: We love you Dad, forever and always! You were always quiet, but a hardworking man with a big heart, we will always look up to and remember you for that. We wish that we were closer. We wish we had seen or talked to one another more often. We can't go back and change that now, we just hope that you knew both of your boys loved you and respected you so much! We all just sucked at showing it. It was hard to try and enjoy that Lions win last night without you, wish that you could have stuck around to watch that, but deep down we know that you are in a better place, no more heartache watching the Tigers and Lions! Until we meet again Dad, we love you! A memorial gathering to celebrate Mike’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Belding VFW Post. Private interment will take place at Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Belding at a later date.
