Michael R. Heaton“ Heater”, 61, of Belding went to heaven Monday morning November 29, 2021, at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice. Mike was born on April 22, 1960, in Pontiac, the son of Gerald and Connie ( White) Heaton. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1978. He worked for several years as a well driller with his cousins at A. B. Heaton and Sons. In his younger days, Mike enjoyed softball, playing 7 days a week. He was a tremendous athlete and later passed his passion for sports to his daughters. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf and many other sports. He was also a die-hard Detroit Lions fan who stuck with the Lions in good times and the many bad times. Mike had an intense love for his family, friends and his loyal canine buddy, Tucker. His wife, children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He would and did help anyone, whether they needed assistance with a project, fix a car, had a bad well or just needed someone to talk to. Mike may have acted like a tough guy, but everyone knew he was just a big teddy bear inside he was known for the best hugs in the world. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by his family and many friends. He was married on November 22, 1980, to Carol at Shiloh Church. Mike is loved and survived by his wife Carol and their children, Tami ( John) Lieffers, Lisa ( Kevin) Beagle all of Belding, his grandchildren, Cody ( Stephanie) Lieffers, Kaitlyn ( Jake) Hirst, Nicholas Beagle, Alyssa Beagle and his great grandchildren, Reece and Rowan. Mike is also survived by his mother Connie Heaton, his brothers, David ( Tina) Heaton, Jeff Heaton, Paul Heaton all of Belding, several nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Funeral services will 10:00 AM, Saturday December 4, 2021, at Smyrna Bible church with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral at church. Private committal prayers for the immediate family will take place at River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to the family or the B Foundation.
