Maxine Z. Jones-Wilson, 94, of Wyoming, passed away Saturday evening, August 22, 2020 at home. Maxine was born on September 9, 1925 in Belding, the daughter of William and Ardis (Hicks) Jones.
Maxine graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1942. In earlier years Maxine and her husband Donovan had the Wilson Farm on Seeley Rd. They were charter members and helped establish Green Corners Baptist Church and were members for many years. Maxine had a variety of interest which included gardening, canning and a life long love of music especially singing at church and being a member of the church choir for many years. She was an amazing and creative woman who by living through the depression had learned many ways of getting by through tough times. In later years she served as a sales rep for Michigan Bell “Ma Bell” working in the offices of Ionia, Hastings and lastly in Wyoming Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband Donovan F. Wilson Sr., her son Donovan F. Wilson Jr., her parents and her brothers and sisters.
Maxine is loved and survived by her children; Herman C. (Lucy) Wilson of Free Soil and Cheryl Poole of Wyoming, 8 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes private interment will take place in Greene Cemetery, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Samaritan’s Purse or Mel Trotter Mission. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
