Mary Jane (Hurley) Eichelberger 98 of Belding died Monday evening December 4, 2023, at Mission Point of Greenville. Mary Jane was born on January 2, 1925, in Belding, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Morgenthau) Hurley. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1942. After graduation she became part of the War Department/Army Air Forces at the Willow Run Bomber Plant near Ypsilanti. At Willow Run Mary Jane worked as an inspector until 1945. She would always fondly recall her work there, being part of the war effort, inspecting the hundreds of planes made each week and often flying to the Wright-Patterson Air Force base to help there. After the war ended Mary Jane was married and worked in Baltimore for several years. After the death of her husband, Mary Jane moved back to Belding to live with and care for her mother and to open her own dress shop. Mary Jane loved fashion and was always well dressed and ready for any occasion. She was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Belding. She was blessed with a long life and had a big love for Belding and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Kathleen and her husband Edward. Mary Jane is loved and survived by her caregivers, Mike and Audra Geister of Belding, and their family, her many church friends and a niece. Funeral services will be Noon, Monday December 11, 2023, at the First Congregational Church, Belding with Pastor Paul Hulford officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Private interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. Memorials may be given to the First Congregational Church, Belding.
