Mary Albert Obituary

Mary Louise Albert, 99, of Belding, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, at Spectrum Health in Greenville, surrounded by her family. Mary was born March 23, 1923, to John and Katherine (Schober) Bieri. Her early years were in Milwaukee, WI. She later graduated from Lowell High School where she started the varsity cheerleading program. She married Robert (Bob) Albert on February 10, 1945, and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage before his death in 2008. Together they lovingly raised 6 children who survive her,  Barbara (Marv) Smith, John (Sherry) Albert, Sharon (Bill) Sutherland, Kathleen (Randy) Preston, Beth (Dave) Quinley and Diane (Tim) Deboer.

Mary was a loving Grandma to Jenny (Brian) Robbins, Andy Gibson, Brian (Jamie) Albert, Kristine Albert, Ty (Kellie) Sutherland, Tonya (Ken) Saladin, Tara (Dan) Pigorsh, Matt (Jamie) Bird, Erica (Eric) Allison, Dustin (Jennifer) Ditsworth, Brenna (Chris) Miller, Aubrey Quinley, Aaron (AnaLisa) Quinley, Devin Deboer, Nate Deboer, Lauren Deboer, Olivia Deboer.

Special Great Grandma to Asher Robbins, Arthur and Maya Albert, Brendan Sutherland, Avery, McKenna and Nolan German, Kieren Saladin, Luke, Anna and Sam Pigorsh, Alex, Jacob, Emily and Molly Sutherland, Briana, Nolan and Delaney Bird; Riley Allison; Owen and Camden Ditsworth.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, infant son Ronnie and great grandson Kade Riefenberg. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews in the Albert Family. Mary was a friend to many and will be remembered for her sense of humor and helpfulness. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing cards, watching the Tigers, golfing and was an active member of St. Mary Church, Miriam and of the Altar Society. She was a wonderful seamstress who sewed many formal gowns for her five daughters. She also gardened, canned, baked and made a loving and fun home for her family. Mary was blessed with a long life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Friday July 8, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belding with Father Jim Wyse presiding. Committal prayers will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from  2-4 & 6-8 with a rosary prayed at 7:30 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to Faith Hospice or the St. Mary Church-Pew Restoration Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Mary’s last home was Green Acres in Greenville, where she received loving  care and support from “ the girls”. The family is also grateful for the care for mom from Dr. Kevin Reed, Dr. Tejinder Mander and in her final days the attentive nurses and staff at Spectrum Health in Greenville, especially Dr. Benjamin Davidson and Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids.
