Marlene Ann (Geerling) Feuerstein

July 6, 1937 February 4, 2021

Marlene Ann Feuerstein of Belding MI, age 83 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and children on Thursday, February 4, 2021.  Marlene was preceded in death by her Father John C. Geerling, Mother Helen F. Geerling, Brothers; John W. Geerling and William F. Geerling.  Marlene is survived by her Husband Joseph E. Feuerstein, Daughters; Maria (Ken) Estes of Round Hill, VA, Anita (Brad) Robertson of East Leroy, MI and Son Mark Feuerstein of Sand Lake, MI.  She is also survived by her Grandchildren Emily and Logan Robertson of East Leroy, MI, Brothers;  James M. Geerling and Bernard J. Geerling of Grand Rapids MI., Brother-in-Law Tom Feuerstein and Sister-in-law Carol Feuerstein, special friend Carol Riddering  as well as many other family members and friends.  Marlene was married to Joseph on October 2, 1965 and had many adventures during their 55 years of marriage.  Marlene was a very devote catholic and a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Belding, MI and served in numerous Church ministries, including the Sister’s in Christ.  Marlene worked at Bissell, Inc. in her early years and enjoyed her job as a Para Pro in the Belding Schools. Marlene enjoyed going to Belding and Notre Dame football games with her little brother.  She was always excited when her children and grandchildren came to visit, and she so enjoyed watching her grandson in all his theatrical performances  and her granddaughter’s  Cross Country and Track meets.  She loved giving and getting hugs even to people she didn’t know.  She also enjoyed going on bus trips, shopping, and loved birthday parties. Marlene was a very kind and outgoing women, she loved meeting lots of new people and always took the time to get to know them.  She also did a lot of outreach to others who were sick by sending cards, making a phone call and visiting. Over the last month, she was blessed with an Angel (Rachael) that helped care for her and keep her comfortable.

Private family services will take place at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding  with Frs. Jim Wyse and Steve Geerling presiding. Committal prayers will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Belding. A time to celebrate her life and accomplishments will be held this summer. Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of her granddaughter or the  Breast Cancer Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
