Marion Ray Galloway went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2018 He was born the 3rd child of seven born to Frank and Bessie(VanVlerah) Galloway in Belding, MI. His early childhood was spent in Belding. The family later moved “to the farm” east of Belding where Marion grew up. He was born May 22, 1928.
Marion is survived by his wife Betty Galloway, two children; John Galloway and Lynda Bush, his brother Art (Jean-deceased) Galloway of Greenville, Jane Drier sister of Texas (Bob-deceased) his brother-in-law; Ron Sinclair (Ruth-deceased), the children of Betty; Sandy Pillera of Belding, Ted ( Joan) Pillera of Lakeville, MN many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Frank Galloway, brother Jimmy, sisters Ruth and Mary. Marion was first married to Wilma Flowers with whom he had his children.
Marion was first employed by the “Basket Factory” in Belding but soon went to Federal Mogul E&T Products group in Greenville. He was an inspector at Federal Mogul most of his 46 years spent there and was known as “a heck of a nice guy” at work.
Marion married his second wife Betty Pillera May 6, 1972. They have been married for 45 years.
Marion loved to travel, and in early years took his children to the western states on vacation. After his second marriage he and Betty went to Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, California, Canada, Mexico, the Eastern States, Minnesota and Europe.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastors Larry Young and Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be at a later date in Smyrna Cemetery, Smyrna. Memorials may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice or a charity of one’s choice.
