Margot Mary Jenks

Margot Mary Jenks, age 90, of Belding, passed away at Green Acres of Greenville on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She was born in Detroit on March 31, 1933, the daughter of Monica Carey. Margot attended St. Patrick Parnell Catholic High School, graduating in the class of 1951. Since her childhood, she has been a member of St. Patrick Parnell Catholic Church and is also where she married Jerry Lee Jenks on November 8, 1958. Margot traveled all over the world and most of the United States, and enjoyed every moment of it. Margot especially loved going on cruises, and really knew how to have a good time. Some of the many places she had visited included: France, Greece, Montreal, Italy, Quebec, Bahamas, and Ireland. Out of the many countries she visited, Ireland was her favorite place to be. She had visited there three times in her life time, the last time in 2018. She loved the people, the sights, the food, and most importantly was very proud of her Irish heritage. Margot was a spit fire and always spoke her mind. She was never afraid to tell anyone how it is. She had many friends that she gained over the years from golfing, bowling; and from spending her evenings at the Grattan Bar, American Legion in Belding, and Eagles of Greenville. She was out going and loved to be around friends and family. Margot will be deeply missed. She is survived by her son, Nick (Toni) Jenks; grandchildren, Dominique (Jorge) VanKammen, Tana (Daryn) Strouse, Douglas Pace, Kayleigh Pace, Kristi Pace; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas, Emmett Thomas, Kelly VanKammen, Connor Strouse, Emma Strouse, Brian Pace; sister-in-law, Geraldine Jenks; and cousin, Julie (Eric) Block and their daughter Anna. Margot was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Jenks. Visitation will be held at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 16, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick Parnell Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 11:00 am. Rev. David Jameson will serve as celebrant. Interment at St. Patrick Parnell Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
