Mamie A. Venneman, 84, of Belding, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Mission Point of Belding. Mamie was born on December 30, 1936 in Belding, the daughter of Ivan and Zylpha (Treynor) Austin.
She attended Belding Area Schools and had worked at a number of area businesses during her working years. Mamie was known for many years for her love of the Christmas Holiday. She would decorate and have a huge display around her home at Christmas time even building her big Santa house. Mamie’s big love was that of being a wife, mom, grandma and great grandma. She had a huge love of family and enjoyed just doing the everyday activities of managing a household. She loved to cook, always had a open door for her friends, children’s friends, everyone was always welcome at the Venneman home. For several holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas she would invite people that she knew would be alone and always made them feel welcome. If you left Mamie’s house hungry it was your own fault. She was talented with doing crafts, cakes, doing all of her daughter’s wedding flowers, had built a home and was an all around supermom. In her free time Mamie enjoyed playing bingo.
Mamie is loved and survived by her children; Tina Moehring of Belding, Gaynell (George) Deible of Fenwick, Kay (Robert) Brown, Marty Venneman, Christopher (Stacy) Venneman all of Belding, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother; Raymond “Teaner“ Austin of Belding, sister; Linda (Jerry) Tingley of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Orville “Bill” Venneman, 2 sisters; Deloris Myer and Colene Nead, brother; Ivan “Buff” Austin.
Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Sunday evening March 21, 2021 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Private funeral services will take place later with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Denny Craycraft Veterans Park in Belding.
The family would like to thank Mission Point of Belding and Heartland Hospice for the great care that they gave their mother.
