Lorene Bush, age 87 of Belding went into her Lord’s waiting arms Sunday June 4th, 2023. Lorene was a loving Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grand Mother. She was born September 4, 1935, in Coldwater Township, the daughter of Rex and Doris ( Hammond) Doolittle.
Lorene married Dewaine D. Bush September 6th, 1953, and together they raised six children. Lorene lived a full life living most of it in Ionia, Michigan. After her children were grown, she and Don moved to Tennessee for several years but eventually returned to Michigan. At the time of her passing she resided in Lakeview at the Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital Long term care facility where she received excellent care.
Lorene loved the Lord faithfully raising her six children in the Church. She held an associate degree from Davenport Community College. She held numerous jobs in her lifetime, always wanting to keep busy and especially loved helping people. She spent many of her later years in life working with the mentally and physically challenged, something she was very proud of. She spent several years volunteering as a foster grandparent at Belding Public schools.
Lorene is survived by her daughters Patricia (Ronald) Davis of Ionia, Janice Crowder of Belding, and son Allen (Terri) Bush of Ionia. Eighteen Grand Children, 41 Great Grand Children and 22 Great Great Grand Children. Sisters Margaret Smith, Wilma (David) Besko and Mary Smith. Brothers Dean, Steve and Daniel Doolittle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband of many years Dewaine, two sons Dewaine Jr. and Chris, one daughter Doris Phillips. Grandchildren; Kathy Bush and Mikael Bush. Her parents and step-mother Mary Doolittle. Brothers; David and Larry Doolittle.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday June 12th, 2023 at Ashley Baptist Church in Belding, Michigan with Pastor Dr. David A. Oliver officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00am one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be given to Ashley Baptist Church to sponsor children going to church camp.
