Leona L. Moll met her Lord and Savior face to face on January 6, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1932, to Frank and Cynthia (Daniel) Hansen of McBride. She was the eldest of ten and took that position very serious. Leona was a graduate of the Class of 1951 at Edmore High School. She met the love of her life, Alvin Moll of Belding while working in the office at Gibson’s in Greenville. They married on May 28, 1955, at Day Bethel Baptist Church in McBride, where she was a member prior to her membership at Ashley Baptist Church, Belding for 63 years. Together they raised six children on their dairy farm west of Belding. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, daughter in law, Debra Klap, her sisters; Francis Augustine of Ithaca, Vergilene Lambert Red of Sumner, her brother Raymond Hansen of McBride, her first born son Bruce passed in September of 2021 and a step grandson Jason Klap in December of 2021. She leaves behind six beloved brothers, Russell of McBride, Laverne (Joyce) of Edmore, Harvey (Darlene) of Alma, Norman (Sandy) of McBride, David of Carson City, Allen (Roxanne) of Sheridan, Harriett (Raymond) Hansen of McBride, Rex (Virgilene) Red of Ithaca, her children, Dan (Kalene) Moll, Calvin Moll, Carolyn (Greg) Smith all of Belding, Mary Ann (Ken) Rittersdorf of Greenville and David Moll of Belding. Leona is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and her church family.
Leona loved her crafts, going to garage sales, cake decorating, gardening, and canning. She was an active member of her church, the Michigan Milk Producers Association, and many other clubs of Belding over the years. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and neighborhood children as well. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday January 10, 2023, at Ashely Baptist Church, Belding with Rev. Dr. David A. Oliver officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Visitation will also be held one hour before the funeral at church. Committal prayers will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Ashley Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Ashley Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
