Lee Albert Pierson, 77, of Fenwick Michigan passed away on August 8, 2023, with family by his side. Lee was preceded in death by his father Elwynn Pierson and mother Hilda (Hodson) Pierson. Lee will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years Gerry Sue Pierson and his children Dennis (Cy), Jim (Rebecca), Marcy (John), Kristi (Jim), Scott (Dee) and Kari (Don) plus his 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren along with his very best friend Max Gibbs.
Lee graduated from Belding High School in 1964 and will be remembered for that part of his life for taking second place in the state finals for wrestling.
Lee found work as a janitor during high school with Robroy Industries (Stahlin Brothers) and worked his way into higher management. He retired after more than 30 years of dedicated work.
As an avid wood worker, Lee found himself spending much of his time working in his shop building everything from bookcases, office desk and heritage writing desk to inlaid boxes and intricate Christmas ornaments that are treasured by his family and friends. His yearly Christmas gifts were greatly anticipated by his family knowing the love and dedication he put into making them. Another great love for Lee was his lawn. A great many hours were spent between Lee and Sue making sure flowers were planted, mulch was spread and weeds were nowhere to be seen. Lee could often be found on his tractor or quad making sure the yard looked beautiful and was ready for a mean game of croquet during the annual family gatherings at the lake.
In honor of Lee, remember to eat the corners from the brownies before anyone else, ask people if they hear ducks, and make wonderful hand gestures in the shape of a fist to others you love.
Lee's life will be celebrated at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding on Saturday August 12th 2023 at 10:00 AM, with visitation starting 30 minutes prior to the service. Pastor Rob Lawrence of Encounter Community Church will officiate. Following service, a luncheon will be provided at Lee and Sue's home. Interment will be in Orleans Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Encounter Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
