Lawrence K. Schoenborn, 85, of Parnell, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Spectrum Health Butterworth, Grand Rapids. Lawrence was born on September 18, 1936, at the family farm in Otisco Township, the son of Robert and Lillian (Laux) Schoenborn. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1954. After graduation he worked for Geiger Water Wells, and then joined the US Army, serving for four years where he trained as a medic. Lawrence retired as an inventory manager at Lescoa in Grand Rapids after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sporting activities and carpentry. He fixed cars and anything and everything around the house for his family. Most of all he lovingly cared for his wife Karen. He was a long-time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Parnell and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Lawrence was married on February 4, 1961, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, to Karen A. Malone, recently celebrating sixty-one years of marriage. Lawrence is loved and survived by his children, Michael (Mary) Schoenborn, of Texas, Ken Schoenborn of Parnell, Marie (Michael) Plite, of Grand Rapids, Susie (Michael) Myles, of Belding, Kathleen Schoenborn, of Parnell, Robert (Alice) Schoenborn, of Grand Haven, his grandchildren, Cate, Rogan, Gabrielle, Vincent, Sean, John, Pat, Monica, Emma, Pete, Bridget, Teresa, Tommy, Bobby, Christy, Mary, Mara, Brenna, Rebekah, his great grandchildren, Theo, Frannie, Abby, Ellie, Lawrence, David, Haley, Emilia, Danny, Leo, Marlena, Benny, Maggie, his siblings, Sister Catherine Schoenborn, of Owensborough, Kentucky, and Jackie Pangborn, of St. Clair Shores, and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Karen, his parents, several brothers and sisters, and his grandson, Joe Myles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Parnell, with Father Thomas Cavera presiding. Committal prayers will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM, with a Rosary prayed at 7:30, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, and the church.
