Kerry K. Brown, 68, of Grattan Twp, Belding, passed away Thursday afternoon March 4, 2021 at home under the loving care of his family and Faith Hospice.
Kerry was born on July 20, 1952 in Greenville, the son of Paul and Evelyn (Riddle) Brown. Kerry graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1970 and later attended Grand Rapids Junior College. In his earlier working years Kerry worked in the construction and building industry. He was a talented man and was blessed with the ability to be able to construct just about anything. Later in life Kerry enjoyed working for Tom Heffron on his fruit and grain farm. While working on the farm he enjoyed the friendship of all the other help especially the younger staff who looked to Kerry for advice and mentoring. He was able to connect with these kids and for several he served as a second dad with his ability to offer good advice on life and living. He enjoyed many hobbies especially wood working, hunting, fishing, camping and travel. He especially enjoyed a long trip to Moab, UT. Kerry had a good sense of humor and was willing to share that with family and friends especially two of his favorites one being “everything tastes better with peanut butter and ketchup” and the other being “every question in life could be answered with one of the following four words: Yes, No, Seventeen or Blue”. He also enjoyed reading a good book. Kerry will be greatly missed and always remembered with a smile.
He was married on May 25, 1985 in Grattan to Virginia “Ginny” A. Joyce. Kerry is loved and survived by his wife Ginny and their children; Amanda (Robert) Sturm of Lyons, Keldrick “Kelly” Paul Richard Brown of St. Louis, Megan (Nick) DeLong and Sarah Mills all of Vicksburg, grandchildren; Anika Brown, Robert Sturm III, Alexandria Brown, daughter-in-law; Nicolle Brown, siblings; Sandy Brown (Gene Hahnenberg) of Greenville, Kevin (Enola) Brown of Belding, nephews; Robert (Mel) Faber, Christopher (Crystal) Brown and Patrick Brown, great nieces and nephew: Evie, Sophia Abigail and Aaron, aunt and longtime family friend Barb Darga of Birmingham, MI and the best boss he ever had Tom (Laura) Heffron. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Sean Faber.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a time to celebrate his life will be at the Heffron Farm Barn/Home of Tom and Laura Heffron, 13655 Heffron NE, Belding on Saturday May 22, 2021 at noon it will be a potluck and please bring a dish to pass. Memorials may be given to Faith Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where cremation services were entrusted.
