Keith R Chambers

Keith Robert Chambers, age 74, of Fenwick, passed away at home on September 18, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1948, the son of Russell Chambers and Marion Munger. Keith went to Ionia High School where he met the love of his life, June Griffin. After high school he immediately entered the work force, working for a small factory in Saranac. Later on, he would work at Gibson’s for a short time before being laid off, but was hired at Fisher Body of General Motors in Lansing that same evening. Curly would go on to work at General Motors for 33 years. He retired from GM in 1999. He was a smart, hardworking man. Keith had many interests that included: NASCAR, Oliver Tractor Shows, and camping. Recently, he was able to go to Iowa with his family to see the Midwest Old Threshers Show. Keith was a family man, and loved spending time with his family, especially his great granddaughter, Gracie. Keith is survived by his wife of 56 years, June Chambers; mother, Marion Brimmer; children, Jennifer Ann Root, Jeremy (Chris) Chambers; grandchildren, Cody Chambers, Hannah (Travis Fiedler) Chambers, Shaun DeSwaan, Storm (George) DeSwaan, Andrew Chambers, Jake Chambers, Kayanne Root, and Becky Root; great granddaughter, Gracie Fiedler; two brothers and a sister; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father; children, Keith Chambers, Jr., and Kathina Schafer; two brothers, and three sisters. A Memorial Service for Keith will take place at the Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service. Pastor Mike Simmons will serve as officiant. Following the service the family invites guests to 1098 Woods Road Fenwick MI, 48834 for a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
