James (Jim) Owen Frost 68 of Greenville/Belding passed away peacefully Friday evening February 28, 2020 in Grand Rapids surrounded by family and friends. Jim was born on July 28, 1951 in Grand Rapids, the son of William and Joyce ( Storey) Frost. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1969. In earlier years Jim had coached his sons on their baseball and football teams and helped with the Boy Scouts. Many knew Jim and his lifelong love of music. He was a talented musician and had played with bands all around the area for most of his life. He was devoted to his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He treated all of his children’s friends like they were his own. Jim will be greatly missed and forever lovingly remembered by his family and countless friends. He is infinitely loved and survived by his children; Aron Mitchell, Jeremy Frost both of Grand Rapids, Nicole Frost of Greenville, his grandchildren; Adelynn Ray, Aron Mitchell Jr and Deja Ayriss, his partner; Janet Sibert Wirtz, of Greenville, the mother of his children; Teri Byrne of Greenville and countless friends, neighbors and fellow musicians.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill Frost. In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated with his guitar . A time to celebrate his life will be 2:00 PM Saturday March 7, 2020 at the Belding American Legion. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm. Following the visitation there will be a brief prayer service Followed by time for family & friends are to share memories of Jim, then a luncheon ending with a music celebration given by fellow guitar players and past band members. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the Legion or Johnson Feuerstein-Funeral Home, Belding where cremation services have been entrusted.
