Jason Allen VanNortrick 48 of Belding went home on Tuesday August 1, 2023. Jason was born on February 9, 1975, in Lansing, the son of Marshall and Cheri (Randall) VanNortrick. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School and had worked as a corrections officer for the State of Michigan. Jason enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, watching car shows on television and was a big fan of Judge Judy. He also enjoyed working out with his membership at Planet Fitness in Greenville. Jason struggled with his mental health and everyday living was not always the easiest for him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is loved and survived by his children, Morgan VanNortrick, Braeden VanNortrick, Jenna VanNortrick all of Greenville, the mother of his children, Jessica (Shane) Heintzelman of Ionia, his parents, Marshall VanNortrick (Dianna Iiams) of Grand Ledge, Cheri (Ralph) Smith of Florida, his sisters, Lori (Doug) Shaffer of Sparta, Missy (Jake) McLean of Grand Ledge, his special uncle and aunt, Steve (Carol) Mauk of Grand Ledge. Jason is also survived by several other aunts, uncles, cousins and his special dog, Cowboy.
A time to celebrate his life and accomplishments will be 5:00 PM Saturday August 5, 2023, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Jennifer Lien of the Center Street Free Methodist Church officiating. The visitation will be at 4:00 PM, one hour before the service. Following the service, a luncheon will take place at the Center Street Free Methodist Church, 311 East Center St., Belding, Mi. 48809. Memorials may be given to the Ionia County Humane Society or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
