Janice A. Rowland

Janice A. Rowland passed away Monday June 22, 2020 in Grand Rapids. The loving and loved daughter of Charles and Ann ( Anderson) Rowland was born in Grand Rapids on March 22, 1947. She lived her childhood in Belding and graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1965. She lived her entire adult life in Grand Rapids.

Jan is survived by her brother and sister -in-law Chuck and Joy Rowland, sister and brother -in-law Pamela ( Maude)  and Bob Jakeway, her nephews and niece, Jeff and Lynn Rowland, Scott and Amy Rowland, Andy  and Kamie Jakeway, Julie and Eric Greene, her great nephews and nieces; Madison Rowland, Andrew Rowland, Frannie Jakeway and fiancé Nick Hall, Bobby Jakeway. Carter Rayborn, Madison Rayborn, Abby Jakeway, Isaac Greene and Henry Greene.

Jan had worked for the law firm of Smith, Haughey, Rice and  Roegge for 30 years. She later worked many years at Heirloom Estates. Jan was an independent, fun loving and caring lady. She was so proud to let people know she was a Finn. Her great sense of humor made her loved by her family and friends. She loved being with her family at any gathering and loved traveling with them as well. She was a very independent person and had an especially tender spot for animals and children. Jan will be greatly missed by her family, cousins and so very many friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus for their  excellent and compassionate care given to Jan. You are so greatly appreciated. In keeping with Jan’s wishes there will not be any funeral or memorial services. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Kent County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where cremation services have been entrusted.
