Jane Ann Gallagher, 89, of Orleans Township, Belding, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Spectrum Health in Greenville. Jane was born on February 3, 1932, in Saranac, the daughter of Fred C. and Alice (Friend) Bowen. She graduated from Saranac High School with the class of 1950, and worked at Ionia Manufacturing after graduation. She was married to Jerry Gallagher on April 7, 1956 in Ada at St. Robert Catholic Church. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding. Jane worked for many years along side her husband Jerry as they built their farm, milked dairy cattle, and later built their business, Gallagher’s Farm Service. She was a hard worker, devoted wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is loved and survived by her husband Jerry, and their children Cindy Chipman of Orleans, Mike (Nicole) Gallagher of Grand Rapids, Mary (Phil) Seidelman of Ionia, her grandchildren, Scott Chipman, Adam (Brittini) Chipman, Carl Seidelman, her great grandchildren, Daniel and Kerstin. Jane is also survived by many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Fred C. Bowen, Jr. and son in law Dean Chipman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father Phil Shangraw presiding. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Private Committal Prayers will be at Orleans Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Orleans Township Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church on Monday.
