James Willis Morgan, 80 of Belding, passed away quietly in his sleep at home on July 1, 2021. Jim was born on December 24, 1940, in Kingsley, he was the son of Willis and Margaret (Ackerman) Morgan. On June 3, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruthann Ruble, who survives. She is the daughter of the Rev. Carl and Lucille (Green) Ruble. Jim and Ruthann raised their children in the Kingsley area. After they retired, they traveled quite a bit before moving to Belding for the last couple of years. Jim leaves behind four daughters, Rebecca (Timothy) Smith, of Lakeland Florida; Wendy Morgan, of Bryon Center, Darcy O’Brien, of Belding; Heather (Jonathan) Groves, of Lake Odessa; one son Stacy James (Shelly McKrill) Morgan, of Kingsley; a sister Barbara (Morgan) Benton and a brother Joseph Morgan, both of Kingsley, brother’s in law, Ronald (Linda) Ruble, of Mt. Pleasant; William (Linda) Ruble, of Belding and Ron Compton of Kingsley. Jim is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife’s parents, brother’s Leon, and his wife Helen (Semmler) Morgan; Jerry and his wife Iris (Redman) Morgan; sisters Shela (Morgan) Smith; and Phyllis (Morgan) Compton; in-laws Jacqueline (Flies) Morgan, Victoria (Ruble) and her husband Charles Mackey and Bernard Benton, two nephews Benjamin Morgan and Monte Smith as well as a son Tracy J. Morgan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday July 11, 2021, at the Center St. Free Methodist Church, Belding with Pastor Jennifer Lien officiating. Visitation will be Saturday July 10, 2021, from 2:00- 5:00 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. For those who are unable to attend the funeral in Belding there will be a short graveside service at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley on Monday July 12th at 1pm. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church on Sunday.
