James L. Mays

James L. Mays, 46, of Orleans, died unexpectedly Saturday July 25, 2020 in Mason County while riding his motorcycle. James was born on March 15, 1974 in Aberdeen, Maryland, the son of Gregory and Mary ( Eickenroth) Mays.

He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1993. He was currently working at Mersen  in Greenville. James enjoyed camping, riding motorcycle and having a drink at the many craft breweries around our state. He had a love of family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He was married on November 20, 1993 in Greenville to Janelle K. Mitchell. James is loved and survived by his wife Janelle and their children; Samantha Mays, Olivia Mays of Orleans, two brothers; Donnie Mays, Joe ( Leah) Mays both of Orleans, father in law  and mother in law,  Ronald and Diane Mitchell of Orleans,  his brother in law’s Joel (Chris) Mitchell of Belding, Todd (Tina) Mitchell of Ionia and sister in law Susan Chesla of Sheridan. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmothers; Helen Eickenroth and Stella Mays.

In keeping with family wishes cremation has taken place. A time to celebrate his life and visit with his family will be  Friday July 31, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to the family.
