Helen J. Mason 88 of Belding passed away Saturday February 25, 2023, at Corewell Health in Greenville. Helen was born on December 1, 1934, in Lakeview, the daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Field) Lance. She graduated from Lakeview High School and later earned a teaching certificate from County Normal. Helen had a life-long love of music, teaching herself to play piano at just 3 years old. She played the piano for many years, at both Belding Bible Church and Smyrna Bible Church. She had also helped at both churches with funeral luncheons and the church cleaning. She loved children and babysat many of the children around their neighborhood. She had also cared for and helped many of her older neighbors with daily life chores allowing them to remain in their homes. She lived a long and faith filled life and had a strong belief in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Helen is loved and survived by her husband Donald of Belding and their children, Deborah Sue Gay, Steven (Shelly) Mason all of Greenville, seven grandchildren, eight grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna and her son in law, Joe Gay.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday March 1, 2023, at Smyrna Bible Church with Pastors Roger Tahtinen and Darwyn Hassert officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to Smyrna Bible Church. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding.
