Harley D. Ridgeway 72 of Belding passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning at home. Harley was born on May 19, 1947 in Ponca City, Oklahoma the son of George and Velma (Romary) Ridgeway. Harley had lived in the Belding area the past 30 years. He was a hard worker, enjoyed hunting, fishing, ham radio and NASCAR. In his younger years he had even raced his own stock car. Harley was a longtime member of the Ionia- Belding Masonic Lodge No. 355 F A & M and countless other Masonic Groups, including the Royal Arch Masons and the Knights Templar. He served as Past Master of Belding-Ionia Lodge No. 355, High Priest of Hooker Chapter No. 73, Thrice Illustrious Master of Tyre Council No. 10, Commander of DeMolai Commandery, Commander of Caledonia Commandery No. 60, Sovereign Master of Mount Mariah Council No. 128, A.M.D., Board of General Purposes District No. 12, Patron of Doric Chapter No. 75, O.E.S., and an officer in several other Masonic organizations. He had served tirelessly in all local officer positions and in many state offices. Harley had a love of family and friends and was very close to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He was married on November 6, 1980 in Grand Rapids to Anneliese (Will) Falk.
Harley is loved and survived by his wife Anneliese and their children; David (Letizia) Ridgeway of Bristow, OK., Rodney (Becky) Ridgeway of Ovid, Harley (Angelia) Ridgeway II of Rifle, CO., Sabina Falk of Belding, Erica Falk (John Woods) of Hudsonville, Rick Falk of Belding, Ron Falk of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. And a daughter in law; Maria Ridgeway of New York. Harley is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents a son; Sean , a sister Rita and two brothers; Jerry and Evert.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial services along with Masonic and Eastern Star services will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 11, 2020 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church . Following the service, a luncheon will take place at church. Interment will take place in the Spring at Otisco Township Cemetery, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Ionia-Belding Masonic Lodge or the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the church or the funeral home where cremation services were entrusted.
