Gerald F. Johnson 90 of Belding passed away Thursday morning at home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Michigan. Gerald was born on November 28, 1932, in Greenville, the son of Frank and Laura (Baker) Johnson. In earlier years he attended Belding Area Schools and later proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1960. He had retired as a boiler engineer at the former Kent Community Hospital in Grand Rapids. While Gerald enjoyed many years of deer hunting, golf and long walks around Belding, his biggest love and enjoyment came from being with his family. They meant the world to him and he showed it daily with his unconditional love. Just the simple times of being together brought him so much happiness. He will be greatly missed and always remembered with a smile. Gerald is loved and survived by his children, Pamela Jean (Mike) Burns of Greenville, Vicki Lynn (Gary) Albritton of Belding, Peggy Ann (Larry) Wilson of Greenville, Jimmy Lee (Theresa) Johnson of Belding, his daughter in law, Tamee Johnson of Greenville, his grandchildren, Chris (Vicotria) Cain , Michelle (Wes) Turley, Daniel (Lydia) Gowings, Kate (Jim) Crocker, Nick (Jen) Gowings, Taylor Alynn Johnson( David Johnson), Bryce Anthony-Gerald Johnson, Heather Garcia, Sonja (Andy) Chilcote, Jessica (Keith) Howard, Bret (Jennifer) Johnson and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Johnson, a son Jerry Johnson Jr., a granddaughter, Jaime Cain and a sister, Elaine Taylor.
Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday April 5, 2023 at River Ridge Cemetery, Belding with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. No visitation will take place. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
