Obituary

George Ronald “Ron” Church, age 74 of Belding, died Monday, July 4, 2022, at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids.  He was born November 23, 1947, in Midland, the son of George Frederick and Alice Pearl (McRoberts) Church.  After graduation from high school, Ron was immediately drafted into the United States Marine Corps.  He proudly served his country in Vietnam.  Ron retired in 2005 after many years of employment at Electrolux in Greenville.  He loved to play golf.  For the past 13 years, he lived with his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Laura, who faithfully cared for him.  Ron is survived by his sons, Travis Scott (Laura Holford-Scott) of Belding and Andrew Scott of Battle Creek; grandsons, Blake and Preston Scott; and cousin, Maurice (Hannah) Thomas of Grand Rapids.  A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday, July 8 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  Graveside services and military honors will immediately follow at Otisco Township Cemetery.  Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Belding VFW Post 4406 or the needs of Ron’s family.
