Eugene J Krieg

September 14, 1924 – March 26, 2022

Dr. Eugene Krieg, beloved father and uncle passed away into God’s loving arms on March 26, 2022 at Spectrum United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, MI.

He will be lovingly remembered by his surviving children, Karen Krieg (Belding, MI) and Janet Krieg, (Saginaw, MI) niece Margaret Krieg and nephew Robert F. Krieg, Jr.  He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them to enjoy and appreciate what life had to offer.  Eugene was predeceased by his parents August and Ella (Glimm) Krieg, former wife Leona (Sommer) Krieg and brother Robert F. Krieg, D.D.S.

Eugene graduated from Bay City Central High School and attended Bay City Junior College before entering the Navy in 1942.  After completing boot camp he was deployed out of San Francisco and served as a Navy Corpsman and saw combat during his tour in the South Pacific as a Marine.  After ending his military duty in 1945 he began his medical training at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He graduated from medical school in 1953 and completed his internship in 1954 at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital.  In 1955 he began his private medical practice of 30 years in Saginaw until joining Blue Care Network for 14 yrs., and Covenant Hospital for 8 yrs.  Eugene was admired and respected as a kindhearted, compassionate, caring individual and an exceptional physician.  He had a fun loving personality and enjoyed swimming, sailing, tennis, nature, and taking spontaneous, adventuresome road trips with his daughters. 

Entombment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum, Saginaw.  A memorial will take place at a later date.
