Erwin L. “Butch” Taylor 85 of Belding passed away Monday October 2, 2023, at home under the loving care of his wife and Corewell Health Hospice. Butch was born on July 28, 1938, in Grand Rapids, the son of Roy and Edna (VanPortfleet) Taylor. He graduated from Kellogsville High School and had retired from Meijer after 25 years working in the warehouse. Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and having fun times with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was married on July 8, 1989, in Belding to Suzanne Steffes. Butch is loved and survived by his wife Sue and their children, Mark (Lourie) Taylor of Norton Shores, Robin Bolt of Paw Paw, Brian (Brandi) Taylor of Tennessee, and Stephanie (Dave) Stokka of Kansas, his grandchildren, Brad (Jill) Taylor, Josh (Siobhan) Bolt, Jesse (Kaleen) Bolt, Jordan Bolt, David Taylor, Danyill (Mckenzie) Trader, Eric Chubb (Maggie Bauman), Kelsey (Jake) Clark, Evan Stokka, and Andrew Stokka, his great grandchildren, Lucas Taylor, Maya Taylor, Olivia Bolt, Justin Bolt, Emmey Bolt, Kash Bolt, Max Clark, Ben Clark, Kezley Trader, and Genesis Trader and two sisters, Lois Klosster and Sandy Melville both of Caledonia. Butch was preceded by his parents, a brother Leroy Taylor, a son David in infancy, a daughter Melissa Merren, and brother-in-law, Tom Klosster. A time of visitation will be Tuesday October 10, 2023, from 1-3 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the B Foundation or the Belding Library. A special thank you to his daughter Stephanie Stokka for all her help, love, and care in taking care of Butch at home.
