Emery “Fred” Beech, Jr., 75, of Belding passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2021, at Tarpon Springs Hospital in Florida.
Fred was born on December 9, 1945, in Lansing, the son of Emery and Helen (Strickfadden) Beech. After school, Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an outdoorsman who loved to be in nature. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, looking for mushrooms, camping and bowling. He retired from Electrolux in 2003 after 39 years of employment in various positions. On June 3, 1998, Fred married the love of his life; Deb Laird, and together they have enjoyed 23 years of marriage. For the past 10 years they have spent their winters in Tarpon Springs, Florida, enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. Above all things though, Fred was a family man. Family was everything to him and he delighted in the time spent with the ones he loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Fred is survived by his loving wife; Deb, his children; Brian (Kristie) Beech, Scott Beech, Don (Marcia) Beech, Shannon Beech, Lisa (Barry) Hohenstein, Chris (Tina) Marshall, Kim (Randy) Bunce, Ann (Dan) Foster, Laurie (Jeff) Puehler, Mike Derosha, Daniel Fish, and 39 grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother; Tom (Marion) Beech of Lakeland, Florida, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law; Lynn (Craig) Towersey of Stanton, sister-in-law; Laurie Hattis of Greenville, and brother-in-law; Mike Laird of Traverse City, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings; Deloris, Suzanne, Jerry, Gaylord, Joe, Randy and Rodger.
A time to celebrate Fred’s life and accomplishments will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 1pm-4pm at the Belding VFW (114 N. Bridge St.)
