Elizabeth Evelyn Smith, age 95, of Greenville, passed away at Golden Life AFC on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was born in Ada, MI on December 12, 1928, the daughter of Augusta Bruinekool and Elliot Washburn. Most of Elizabeth’s childhood was spent in Ada until her family moved to Alpena during the depression to be closer to family and find work. Elizabeth married her first husband, Clarence Joe Fuller Jr, together they had 8 children. During that time she worked at Ace Planting in Cascade, Atwood in Lowell, and eventually owned and operated the Smyrna Bar. After they separated Elizabeth moved to Anchorage, Alaska where she would meet and marry Joe Smith. During that time she worked in the schools as a cook, which she enjoyed very much. She also worked at JoAnn Fabric where she learned to sew. In her spare time she really enjoyed walking and had participated in many 5k’s. Elizabeth also really loved carousels and rode them at any opportunity. As a couple Elizabeth and Joe enjoyed fishing and traveling in their motorhome. After Joe’s death she moved back to Michigan to be with her family. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Michael Fuller, Kathleen Hill of Zapata, TX, Sharon Applegate of Grand Rapids, Jo Clemens of Rockford, Colleen Fuller of Belding, Patrick Fuller of Smyrna, Tami (Wayne) Geiger of Smyrna, Timothy Fuller of Saranac; grandchildren, Kim Wrisley of Ionia, Michael (Elizabeth) Fuller of Telephone, TX, Joshua Fuller, Mikayla Onslow, Maria (Robby) Zandbergen of Garibaldi, OR, Dr. Mitchell Onslow of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Sidney) See of Hudsonville, Charles Hill of Zapata, TX, Fernando (Julie) Aranjo of Cannonsburg, Jamie (Todd) Tysee of Grand Rapids, Stephanie (Ben) Miller of Muskegon, Jason Simons of Hudsonville, Marnie Clemens of Grand Rapids, Joseph (Cheri) Clemens of Plainwell, Thomas Clemens III of Muskegon, Timothy Clemens of Francis E. Warren AFB Cheyenne, WY, John Clemens of Belding, Daniel Clemens of St. Joseph, Clarence Fuller, Jayna (Kurt) Meyers of Saranac, Dawn (Terry) Gunther of Greenville, Andrew Wright of Symrna, Nathaniel (Samantha) Wright of Greenville; siblings, Jerry (Roberta) Bruinekool of Grand Rapids, Lee (Barb) Bruinekool of Grand Rapids, Shirley Carlson of Lowell; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bruinekool of Richland; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Youell (Joe) Smith; father of her children, Clarence Washington (Joe) Fuller Jr.; natural father, Elliot Washburn, father, Arthur Bruinekool; mother, Augusta Bruinekool; brothers, Elliot Bruinekool, David Bruinekool, Kenneth Bruinekool, Dennis Bruinekool; sister, Dorothy Walling; brother-in-law, Steven Carlson; sisters-in-law, Linda Bruinekool, Patricia Bruinekool; grandsons, Mark See, Andon Wright; sons-in-law, Ed Hill, Thomas Clemens Jr.; daughter-in-law, Michelle Fuller. Per Elizabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral home is serving the family. Services are pending.
