Donald Feuerstein Obituary

Donald G. “Don” Feuerstein, 85, of Greenville died Monday evening November 9, 2020 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice. Don was born on August 20, 1935 in Belding, the son of Joseph and Mary (O’Connor) Feuerstein.

He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1953 and later served two years in the US Army. He was married on May 5, 1962 in Belding to Carol Clark.  During his working years, Don was a service manager at Gibson’s in Greenville for 35 years. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, where he had helped for many years on the funeral luncheon team. He was a life member of the Belding Sportsman Club and was a member of the Belding American Legion and the Greenville Eagles. He was a volunteer for several years with the Ionia County Victims Advocate Group and was very passionate and proud of the many times he and others of the group helped those in need. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and loved time spent with family. He had a good sense of humor and could always be counted on to pull a joke or two on one of his family members or any of his many friends. He will be greatly missed.

Don is loved and survived by his wife Carol and their children, Miki Horton- Feuerstein (Jerry) of Byron Center, Scot (Julie) Feuerstein of Edmore, granddaughter Brittany (Casey) Hoxie of Kentwood, his brothers, Tom Feuerstein of Sheridan, Joe (Marlene) Feuerstein of Belding, his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents. Due to the COVID pandemic no public funeral or visitation will take place now.  A time to celebrate his life and accomplishments will be held next summer.

Memorials may be given to the Ionia County Victims Advocate Group or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
