David L. Hessler

David Lyle Hessler, age 92, of Belding, passed away at Oaks of Belmont on Saturday, July 29, 2023. He was born in Grattan on December 31, 1930, the son of Lyle and Fern Hessler. David graduated from Belding High School in 1950. He was a proud military service member in the United States Army. During his working years he worked in construction as a mason and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed to hunt and fish with his good buddy, Chuck Corey. David was a longtime American Legion member. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Janet Karasiewicz, Steve (Anna Shear) Hessler, Eric (Terese) Hessler, Jodi O’Connor-Jakeway, Patti (Paul) Brandt, Dan (Suzanne) O'Connor, all of Belding; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ted (Betty) Hessler, Pat O'Connor, and Jack (Beverly) Hessler. In keeping with his wishes, a private family service has taken place at the Bostwick Lake Cemetery. A memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, August 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Faith Hospice and the American Legion Post #203 in Belding.
