Cory O'Connor Obituary

Cory Lee O’Connor, 35, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2024, at his parents’ home in Belding. He was born on May 30, 1988, in Greenville, the son of Daniel and Suzanne (Starkweather) O’Connor. Cory attended Belding Schools during his earlier days and graduated from Lowell High School in 2007.

An avid reader, Cory loved to learn and was often the “go-to” person for anyone who had a question they wanted answered. Math was his strong point and he enjoyed teaching others with equations to solve. He had a particular interest in cars, as well as enjoying playing the guitar.

Cory was an energetic but clever person who worked hard at all that he set out to do. He will be lovingly remembered as a warm-hearted individual who loved his family and cared for others.

Cory is survived by his parents, Dan and Suzanne; his son, Breslin Lee O’Connor; siblings, Casey (Brian) O’Connor-Goodsell, Ryan (Francesca) O’Connor, Sean O’Connor; half-brother, Robert Watrous; grandfather, Craig (Paula) Starkweather of Mackinac Island, nieces, Ariyaraine Goodsell and Alexis Watrous; nephews, Damien Hale and Ashton Watrous. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert O’Connor, Patricia O’Connor, and Amy Thornton.

Private family services will take place.

Because of his love for reading, the family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the Alvah N. Belding Library.
