Constance D Maharry

Constance D. Maharry 70 of Belding passed away Sunday morning November 13, 2022, at home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Hospice. Constance was born on October 15, 1952, in Greenville, the daughter of Donald and Mary ( Harris) Newland. In earlier years she attended Greenville Public Schools. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, bird watching, thrifting, gardening,  sewing and caring for her flowers and houseplants. Connie treated everyone like family. Her home was a warm and welcoming place for anyone who came. A place where a kid could certainly act like a kid. She was well known for bringing in hurt or abandoned animals. Some were rehabilitated and let go and some became family members. 

She took great pride and joy in her work as a direct caregiver for the elderly and disabled.  She provided end of life care the last several years of her career at Our Place Cares in Greenville. Prior to that she worked for Listening Ear in Belding providing one on one care for the disabled. She was married on December 19, 1980, in Greenville to Joseph Maharry. Constance is loved and survived by her husband Joseph and their children, Monte ( Trisia) Newland, Michael ( Nicole) Case, Mary Maharry, Athena Maharry all of Greenville, Naomi Maharry Joe-Seth Maharry both of Belding, several grandchildren, six great grandchildren and her siblings, Richard ( Sharan) Newland of Cedar Springs, Robert ( Juanita) Newland of Lyons and Edward Newland of Lakeview. Constance was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Peggy Hall and a brother Bradley Newland. A time to celebrate her life will be 1:00 PM Saturday November 19, 2022, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Adolph Flores officiating. A time of visitation with her family  will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or the Humane Society of Ionia. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
