Clarence F. Sparks 76 of Belding died Wednesday November 17, 2021, at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Clarence was born on May 21, 1945 in Belding the son of Alden and Pauline ( Shindorf) Sparks. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1964 and later served eight years in the Michigan National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking and farmed many years of his life. Even though he faced many struggles with his health in recent years, Clarence always put up a good fight and tried his best to carry on. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. He is loved and survived by his children, Sherri Nichoson of Belding, Amy ( Tim) DeBerg of Gowen, his longtime companion DeRita Pearl and her children, William ( Hilda) Pearl of Grand Rapids, Neil Pearl of Sparta, his grandchildren, Kylie Somers, Dylan Nichoson, Tori ( Joey) Carey, Skylar Nichoson, his great grandchildren, Hailie, Emmett, Jackson, Jonathon, Gracelynn, Savannah, DelRita’s grandchildren, Isabella, William and Allison. Clarence is also survived by a sister and brother, Robert ( Irma) Sparks of Carlsbad, NM and Linda( Basil) Smith of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Collene, a sister Gayla Haines and a grandson Tad DeBerg. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday November 20, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belding with Father Jim Wyse as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Tribute drive in the country leading to St. Mary's Cemetery for the interment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family.
