Cindy M. Magirl, 56, of Six Lakes, died Monday morning October 5, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Cindy was born on May 26, 1964 in Greenville, the daughter of William E. and Janet E. (Macleod) Hammond.
She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1982. After high school she attended Grand Rapids Community College, where she earned her nursing degree and later after working several years, Cindy graduated from Ferris State University earning her bachelor’s degree. She had worked at Spectrum Health Hospital in Greenville for many years and had also recently taught in the nursing program at Montcalm Community College. Cindy was very passionate about her work as a nurse and cared for countless patients as if they were all part of her own family. She was an avid scuba diver and had enjoyed a number of trips with her husband Dennis, scuba diving in Indonesia and Fiji. She also enjoyed travel, camping with friends and spending time with her two dogs: Magnum and Gunner. She had a big love of family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
She married Dennis Magirl on July 20, 1991 at Shiloh Chuch. Cindy is loved and survived by her husband Dennis, her father, William ( Judy) Hammond, sister, Beverly ( Mike) Brownell all of Belding, her nieces, Elizabeth ( Ben) Manns of East Lansing, Jessica ( Paul) Haines of Caledonia, Jennifer Brownell, Sarah Brownell, Megan Brownell all of Belding, a great nephew, Cameron Haines, her mother in law; Mary Magirl of Greenville, brother in law, Dave ( Lori) Magirl of Greenville, two nephews, Andrew ( Lauren) Magirl of Greenville, Carter ( Cassie) Magirl of Greenville, a great nephew Owen Magirl, her step siblings; Rhonda ( Steve) Benner-Boylan, Debi Benner, Adam ( Melissa) Springsteen, special friends; Clint ( Nori) Slusser of Greenville and many other friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2006.
A time of Life Celebration will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2020 at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Humane Society or Nursing Student Scholarship at Montcalm Community College. Envelopes will be available at the church or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
