Charlene Mason 75 of Greenville died unexpectedly Thursday evening December 31, 2020 at home. Charlene was born at home near Belding on September 24, 1945, the daughter of Elisha and Myrtle ( Hubbard) Clifford. As a young lady Charlene was not able to complete her high school years when she was young but later proudly graduated from Belding High School thru the Adult Education Program. She had worked for a while at Gibson’s in Greenville but Charlene was most happy just to be at home, taking care of her family. Growing up with 17 brothers and sisters gave her a good perspective on how to manage a household. She had a big love of her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and watching her favorite soap operas. She had for many years always sent in her card to be selected as the “ big” winner in the Publishers Clearing House giveaway. Charlene also took care of the many graves of her deceased family members. Every Memorial Day would find her taking care of the graves and placing flowers on 54 graves around the area. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. Charlene is loved and survived by her husband of nearly 60 years Dorman Mason of Greenville and their children, Mickey ( Burton) Sly of Crystal, Debbie ( Rich) Sellers of Greenville, Terry (Jerry) Cassidy of Allegan, Melissa Garfield of Greenville, her grandchildren, Sarah ( Scott) Clark, Rachel Sellers, Cassy “Scooter” Mason ( Rudy Henry) , Clayton ( Sarah) Holliday, Geanna Mason,( Brandon Ludwick), Troy ( Brittany) Holliday, Jessica ( Dustin) Johnson, Michelle Baker, Britney Byrne, her great grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Taylor, Kaitlynn, Damien, Chelsea, Kiera, Maleke, Alli, Celesity, Marcus, Hailee, Emma, Chole, Amelia, Desiree, Raylynn, Piper, Jaiden, Aiden, Izabella, Ariah, her brother and sister in law, Elisha “ Junior” ( Deb) Clifford Jr. of Ionia, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
